About Physics 201 Labs

Labs are an integral part of this course. Along with other requirements, you must also finish all four labs to pass the course. If you do not finish all four labs, you will get an F in the course. Labs are performed every other week. A detailed schedule is linked below:

Schedule of Physics 201 Labs

Labs begin on Week 2 for even-numbered lab sections and on Week 3 for odd-numbered lab sections, and are scheduled every other week. There are NO LABS DURING WEEK 1.

There are 4 Regular PHYS 201 Lab Experiments: (Bring your Lab Manual or the detached write-up from the lab manual to class. Answer all prelabs prior to coming to class.).

There are 4 Honors Lab Experiments (Phys 201 Honors Labs are performed every other week, in between regular labs).
Protocol for Missing a Lab Avoid missing labs. If you miss a lab, IMMEDIATELY arrange to make it up in a different section, by contacting your TA and the TA in the other section where you wish to perform the experiment (subject to space limitations). As a last resort, there is a very short "make-up" period near the end of the quarter. For consideration, you would need to contact your lab TA and Prof. Joseph Trout at least two weeks before this period. The same procedures apply if you foresee your absence because of a Drexel scheduled activity.

For all other lab-related matters, please contact Prof. Joseph Trout (joseph.trout@drexel.edu , office:DISQUE-902).

If you are missing your lab manual, you can download individual labs, prelabs, and writeups here .
