From: Kristin Satterlee Reply-To: Kristin Satterlee Newsgroups: rec.food.recipes Followup-To: poster Subject: Recipe: Pepper Steak Date: Mon, 10 Apr 1995 16:49:43 GMT Organization: University of Chicago -- Academic Information Technologies Message-ID: Pepper Steak 1 lb. sirloin, cut in strips (easier to cut if slightly frozen) 2 Tbsp. oil 1/4 c sliced onion 1 clove minced garlic 1 beef bouillon cube, dissolved in 1 c. hot water 2 c. coarsely chopped tomato 1 large green pepper, sliced 2 Tbsp. cornstarch dissolved in 1/4 c. cold water 2 Tbsp. soy sauce Brown meat in oil. Add onion and garlic; season with salt and pepper. Add bouillon and simmer 20-25 minutes. Add tomato and green pepper. Cook 10 minutes. Add cornstarch mixture and soy sauce.
