Travel Information

If you are flying to Rome and you need the schedule  of  trains from Rome Termini Station to Naples Piazza Garibaldi Station see the Trenitalia website. The schedule of trains from Rome Fiumicino/Leonardo da Vinci International Airport to Rome Termini station is available  here.

1) From Naples to Molo Beverello:

The main harbor to reach Capri from Naples is Molo Beverello

a) If you arrive to Naples by train:

The main Naples train station (Piazza Garibaldi) is about 4 km from Molo Beverello. Notice that  there is another train station-Central Station- just a few minutes walking from Piazza Garibaldi Station. Piazza Garibaldi station, however, is the station closer to Molo Beverello.

You can reach  Molo Beverello either by  the Alibus (the Alibus is the bus departing every 20 minutes from the Airport and stops at Piazza Garibaldi -schedule) , by the line-R2 bus, by tram (line 1)  or by taxi (expected cost 10-20 Euro-depending on your luggage. Ask the driver in advance the estimated cost.)

b) If you arrive to Naples by plane:

From the airport you can reach Molo Beverello either by taxi or by bus. The bus connecting Naples airport to Molo Beverello (the stop for Molo Beverello is at stazione Marittima in the Piazza Municipio) is the Alibus. Alibus departures are every 20 minutes from 06:30 until 23:30 (schedule). The Alibus ticket costs 3 euros and is operated by A.N.M. bus company (

2) From Molo Beverello to Capri:

There are several ferry (about 80 minutes to reach Capri) and hydrofoil (about 40 minutes to reach Capri) companies. For the full schedule and ticket prices see here. Tickets can be purchased at Molo Beverello.

3) Once you arrive at the Capri dock:

If your hotel is in Capri  you can take the funicular (the best option), the bus or the taxi  from the dock to the Capri center and then walk to your hotel (the town of Capri is not open to cars).

If your hotel is in Anacapri you can either take the bus for Anacapri or the taxi (some hotels can be reached by cars while for other you will have to walk from the bus stop or from where the taxi can stop).

A staff member of the Capri Conference Center (with a "IAU SYMPOSIUM 246" sign) will be at the Capri dock from 11am to 7pm September 4 to provide participants with any further information and directions they might need upon their arrival in Capri.
