Washington State

Beth's Diner
Aurora Avenue, Greenlake district, Seattle. Big friggin' omelettes. We're talking BIG. How big are they? Twelve eggs. Yes, twelve. One whole egg carton. A dozen, but with out the baker thrown in. One for every commandment plus two to throw at the side of the house. Plus, the walls are covered with Seattle's most creative artists' (and spellers') crayon-and-marker works. Some classics include a scintillant "I Want Him Now" and some very deathsurroundsmeesque splotches called "Armageddon." Most importantly, you can't keep the waitress away from refilling your mug. And like any respectable Seattle coffee haunt, the espresso machine churns out a durn fine latte.

I've only got two months to kill, but I'm damned if I don't become a regular. Review by Joshua Michael Kamensky, on his semester of living in the west and experiencing life.
