ANNOUNCEMENTS:
(Please
review the following at least every week for new information)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
10/29/2009: The mean score on the midterm was 86.2. Nice going!
10/16/2009: The midterm exam will be held as scheduled on Thursday, October 22 at 8:00 AM in DISQUE 108. Please check this webpage for the latest information. The exam will cover Chapters 16 through 18 and will have 2 long problems (25 points each) and four short problems (12 or 13 points each). The problems will be similar to the problems in the text. Please bring a calculator for the numerical part of each problem. Be careful with units and significant figures.
The bookstore has just received a new shipment of lab manuals. Those students who were not able to purchase a manual may now do so. Sorry for the delay!
09/21/2009: Welcome to the class! All work handed in (including exams) must have your signature, printed name and the last four digits of your Drexel ID clearly written. You will hear and see better by taking seats near the front of the room. Sitting near the rear of the room will be interpreted as an attempt to engage in activities unrelated to the course.
USE OF LAPTOPS, CELL PHONES AND TEXT MESSAGING is NOT permitted either in lecture or in exams.
Violators will be asked to leave the room. Laptop/cell phone use during lectures is distracting to others and is often abused (texting, checking email, etc.) To take notes, use a pencil and paper. All information storage and communication devices are forbidden during exams. Use of calculators no more advanced than the TI85 is permitted and recommended.
