Congratulations to Steven Carabello for being awarded a research grant-in-aid from the National Sigma Xi Research Society for his work on resolving the energy gap in MgB2. Only 20% of proposals receive any funding. Steven recently passed his oral qualifyers.

Dr. Ramos's group gave four contributed talks and three poster presentations at the 2010 APS March Meeting in Portland, OR. Gali received a Best Undergraduate Poster Award at the SPS Banquet.

Dr. Ramos presented a research seminar on Nov. 12, 2009 at Northrup-Grumman Research Corporation.

Dr. Ramos gave physics colloquia at Temple University and Chestnut Hill College.

Dr. Ramos gave an invited oral poster presentation at the Quantum Fluids and Solids Conference at Northwestern University.

Dr. Ramos will present three papers at ISEC 2009 in Fukuoka, Japan.

Alyssa Wilson and Anthony Tyler successfully defended their theses on "phase qubit lasing" and "Berry's Phase in the phase qubit".   Alyssa will study at Cambridge/Harvard and Anthony at Purdue, for their Phd's in Physics.

Congrats to Joey Lambert for passing his oral qualifiers.

The QC group presented 4 contributed talks and two posters at the APS March meeting in Pittsburgh, PA.

Alyssa Wilson was awarded the Barry Goldwater Scholarship and Cambridge-Gates scholarship to study quantum mechanics at Oxford University.
