Teaching Assistant Professor
(August 22, 2008) The Department of Physics of Drexel University is seeking applicants for a position of Teaching Lecturer to support the educational mission of the department. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining physics demonstrations for use with the lecture components of our lower-division courses. In addition, he/she will be responsible for the development and administration of introductory physics laboratories for physics and engineering majors. This is principally an educational position, so candidates must have strong pedagogical, interpersonal, and communication skills, as well as a very strong technical ability. An advanced degree in physics or a very closely related discipline is required, as is demonstrated experience with experimental physics and physics education.

Postdoctoral Position in Computational Biophysics
(September 26, 2008) The Department of Physics at Drexel University invites applications for a two-year postdoctoral position in computational biophysics aimed at understanding folding and early assembly events of proteins associated with neurological disorders such as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. The position is available immediately. Significant computational facilities will be available . Preference will be given to applicants with experience in molecular dynamics simulations, parallel computing, and programming in C and C++.
