Research Interests
Specialization in Experimental Surface Physics
Studies of the geometric, electronic, and vibrational structure of solid surfaces / interfaces, adsorbed species, and thin films. Currently, semiconductor, metal, and organic film surfaces / interfaces as well as diamond-like carbon thin films are under
study using Scanning Tunneling Microscopy / Spectroscopy, Atomic Force Microscopy, High Resolution Electron Energy Loss Spectroscopy, Low Energy Electron Diffraction, Auger Electron Spectroscopy, Photoelectron Spectroscopy, and other surface spectroscopic
/structural techniques.
Author of over fifty publications in surface and interface science; of review articles on Scanning Probe Microscopies, Metal-Polymer Interface Analysis, and the Physics of Ultrathin Alkali-Metal Interfaces; and, of a book on Scanning Probe Microscopies.
