What I think of different types of Cliff Bars

Well, Alina has a chocolate review page, so I decided that I might as well at least note which of these things are my favorite, since I eat a good number of them during the summer. And I always go back to the store and forget which ones I don't like. Thus, roughly yearly, I buy the same thing that I had disliked the previous year (Lemon Poppyseed is the current example) and say blech! Maybe I can reduce the number of yearly blechs by using this. Of course, the daily news produces so many that these are probably lost in the noise. Oh well.

The actual comments

Lemon Poppyseed Ugh. Way too sweet. If it were more sour, I'd like it more. If it were less sweet, I'd like it more. Heck, if it even remotely tasted like lemons, I'd like it more. Definitely not good for a long bike ride. 230 kCal, 3.5g fat, 48g carb, 8g protein
Apricot Yum! These are pretty good. A little sour, not too sweet, and they taste like they might actually have apricots in them. They do take quite a bit of chewing though. Just bought another box. 230 kCal, 3g fat, 48g carb, 8g protein
Black Cherry Almond Not all that interesting. A little sweet, but not overbearing. Not bad, but not good either. Meh. -- On second tasting (free small bar at an art-fair!?!), I rather liked it. Good cherry taste. Maybe batches vary? 250 kCal, 5g fat, 44g carb, 10g protein
Cool Mint Chocolate Strange. Kinda minty, but has something else in it that I don't think I like. Probably not worth bothering with. Fortunately it isn't too sweet. 250 kCal, 5g fat, 43g carb, 10g protein
Chocolate Almond Fudge Not bad. I'm rather happily surprised. I was expecting it to be far too sweet, but I munched on one during a ride to Chelsea, and it was pretty good. Takes more chewing than average though. 250 kCal, 5g fat, 43g carb, 10g protein
Cranberry Apple Cherry Probably my favorite. Easy to chew, easy to swallow, and tastes quite good for something so processed. Even tastes like it might have some fruit in it, particularly the apples. Nummy. 230 kCal, 2.5g fat, 47g carb, 9g protein
Chocolate Brownie Not horribly sweet. I'm rather happily surprised. It might be a bit sweet for an actual ride, but I could get used to it. Slums down easy. 240 kCal, 4.5g fat, 45g carb, 10g protein
Carrot Cake This was the other one that got us through my badly planned camping trip in Saguaro Ntl. Park, besides Cranberry Apple Cherry. Kinda sweet, but yummy. Heck, it even makes a decent impression of its name. 240 kCal, 4g fat, 46g carb, 10g protein
Oatmeal Raisin Walnut Pretty good. Simple, and not excessively flavorful in any way that would be bothersome on a ride. On the other hand, not all that amazing, either. Ok. don't know these for a full bar
